Languages for Tots®

6 months to 3 years

45 minute classes | Parent or caregiver attends Tots classes with child

Tots classes are divided according to age, generally 6 months to 20 months and 20 months to 3 years. Parent or caregiver facilitates participation in structured activities. 

Language for Tots is a 45-minute language immersion playgroup, which includes stimulating games, visual aids, original LWFC songs, tactile materials and more, through which children absorb the target language.  

As children manipulate toys and visual aids they not only develop language skills, they also develop motor skills and coordination. As they participate and interact, they imagine, discover and build social skills too.

With the Thibaut Technique® children absorb the target language naturally with emotional support and playful personal interaction. Children pay attention and absorb the words and sentences through games and each session's songs. Each session includes fresh new songs and words in professionally developed take-home material.

Languages for Children

1 hour class | Children separate from parent or caregiver

Children's classes are divided by age, generally 3 years to 5 years and 5 years to 9 years. Students separate from their parent or caregivers and attend class by themselves.

Language for Children is a 1 hour language immersion class, where children learn the target language through age-appropriate action games, visual aids, LWFC vocabulary, songs and engaging educational activities.

Because children over the age of 3 are fully verbal, children are encouraged to be social, have fun and be animated. This group uses phrases and full sentences and progresses to stories and dialogs. Classes are relaxed and happy because the students are constantly engaged in stimulating activities.

Spanish Preschool

2.5 hour classes | Children separate from parent or caregiver

This Fall the Little Chatterbox is proud to offer a Spanish half-day preschool program, in addition to its regular Spanish for Tots and Spanish for Children classes. The Spanish preschool immersion program, for children ages 3-5 years, blends The Language Workshop’s unique playgroup approach, language immersion fun, and a flavor of the Spanish culture. It is a separation program so children attend by themselves. Games, calendar time, arts & crafts, books, play and movement activities center around the LWFC vocabulary-building songs and learning more foreign language grammatical patterns and word meanings.
